During the underpainting of this painting, I could clearly see the back edge of a figure. As I sought to resolve the rest of the painting, the figure of the child appeared to me. Then I understood what the painting was about. The Hebrew words are the words of The Blessing from Numbers 6:24-26: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace”. That is my prayer for you.
